Facilities Background: A dream realized

In May 2025, Suncoast Therapeutic Equine Partners, Inc. (STEP) was born from a long-held dream to create a program devoted to serving our community and offering a space of possibility. STEP provides a place where people can build meaningful partnerships with the horses while discovering their own strengths and potential.

Barbara and Kelly Bailey, whose home is War Horse Farm, founded The New Riders of the Golden Age in 1982 and have been performing jousting shows across the U.S. and Canada. The farm is home to majestic Belgian, Percheron, Shire, and Clydesdale horses, whose size and strength are impressive—and whose gentle nature revealed a remarkable ability to connect with people.

In June 2025, War Horse Farm opened its gates and welcomed STEP into a supportive setting for these therapeutic programs. STEP is truly grateful to call War Horse Farm home. Inspired by Barbara Bailey and our shared mission, the horses continue to serve as partners in growth and connection, inspiring lives every day.
